I have helped many students discover their own ability to grow, improve, and become confident in themselves as learners, including those with dyslexia or who are twice exceptional.
I also bring in the social-emotional aspect of learning into sessions with my students.
I utilize an online tutoring format, which I have found to be very effective for all of my students.
My Experience

My Education
I received my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Metropolitan State University of Denver. During my education I received training in phonics, reading instruction, and effective educational methods that have since formed my instruction to this day. This includes the Constructivist view of learning the Zone of Proximal Development educational theory.
I have also received training and have had extensive experience with Orton-Gillingham based reading instruction. You can learn more about how I use the Orton-Gillingham approach, as well as how I teach students with dyslexia, by clicking here.
Perhaps my greatest education has been from my students themselves. In my real world tutoring experience I have learned what works and what doesn’t work in terms of teaching and instruction. My students have also taught me the even more important life skills of patience and compassion.
